THE RETREAT

Your investment  $250-$1,149  |  Maximum 14 participants

Held in Lysterfield, 37km south-east of Melbourne, Victoria, our two-day weekend retreats will encompass our belief that there is an artist within all of us, we just need permission to find them.

Each retreat will include 4 art workshops, 2 movement sessions, and 4 laughter sessions. There will be breaks throughout the day for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

The weekend is fully catered with a carefully selected (mainly) vegetarian menu to round out your experience.

ARRIVAL

Welcome

You can arrive at the retreat on the Friday evening from 7pm. This allows you time to settle in, meet the founder, and enjoy a simple supper and restful night before the workshops begin on the Saturday morning.

You are welcome to arrive early on the Saturday morning, but will need to be ready to start our first workshop on time.

ART WORKSHOPS

DAY 1

Workshop 1 – Creative collages

Remember the freedom of playing as a child? No self-criticism, no judgement and overflowing imagination. This workshop will take you back to that feeling, giving you permission to make mistakes, although we believe in art, there are no mistakes. This workshop will help ease you out of your comfort zone, tap into the creativity within, and get a little messy.

Workshop 2 – Musical Easels

This workshop will help you free yourself from self-judgement, when you move from easel to easel, adding to each other’s paintings. You will have around 10 minutes on each canvas, working within the original colour palette, chosen by the first painter of that canvas. We ar sure to see some amazing creations here!

DAY 2

Workshop 3 – Mixed media memories

This workshop allows you to forget the stresses of your life and get into your flow, creating a beautiful piece using acrylic paint, inks, paper and items found in nature. We may even sprinkle a little glitter around! Your completed piece will certainly make a statement.

Workshop 4 – Opposites attract

Ever tried painting with your non-dominant hand? Using your ‘other’ hand helps to open up the creative areas of your brain. You can choose what medium to use in this workshop, from those already used during the retreat. This is sure to bring some laughter and interesting creations.

LAUGHTER

DAY 1

Session 1:  Laughter Yoga

As our introductory session we’ll experience the joy that is Laughter Yoga, and discover why it’s been called the happiest gentle exercise, stress reduction and resilience building program on the planet.

Session 2: The science behind the laughter

Beginning with a few laugher energisers, we’ll journey deeper in the science behind the laughter, explore the body / brain / mind connection, and discover how taking conscious control of our behaviours and thoughts impacts our reactions and responses to the world around us.

DAY 2

Session 3: Laughter with a S.M.I.L.E.

With the S.M.I.L.E. Project as our base, we’ll each develop our own 7 step plan for laughter based wellbeing, a plan that you can design to suit your personal preferences and needs, that can be practiced almost anywhere and at almost any time.

Session 4: Laughter Plans

Time for reflection, discussion, and refinement of our laughter and humour plans.  We’ll investigate happiness journaling, minute and laughter meditations, and finish with laughter based gratitude’s, affirmations and of course, loads of laughter.

Keep smiling.
